TTC on strike

While I was preparing my breakfast & packing my lunch for work, my phone rang! Errm, who would call me at this hour? "Hi, this is Crofton" My manager!?! haha.. So efficient sia. He called me to tell me that TTC (TTC is Toronto's major public transportation service) went on strike, & I can just take a cab to work, they will reimburse me! Whoa.. RBC really prepared for 'emergencies' like that sia.. In case no one shows up for work eh? =( no free holiday!

Evening update: Toronto Chaos
Whoa what a mad rush today! Since I take the bus 11 (my feet) to work, the strike did not affect me.. But just by walking on the streets to work, u can tell sth was so wrong! There was major traffic congestions everywhere! I've never seen so many cars in Toronto before.. It's almost like KL sia.. And there were MANY many more ppl on the streets, tons of bikers etc etc.. And for some reason, the fire truck siren kept going on and on everywhere.. Feels like a big disaster has came upon us! And to add on to the chaos, the weather went up to almost 30 degrees today, by far the hottest day this year!

Someone stopped me to ask me if there's another entrance to the subway cos the one she pointed at was locked! haha, i told her, "u won't find any open today.. they are on strike!" She looked so bewildered.. poor girl.. i think she is a tourist! good thing it wasn't yesterday eh? Otherwise 'toronto doors open day' would have been super super bad..

Anyways, I was one of the earlier ppl to arrive at the office. So we had to cope with everyone's funds.. like more than half my team wasn't there.. I even did Jelena's multi-manager fund! Talk about desperate times eh? After an hour or so, ppl slowly start streaming in, hot-faced and all.. Most of them had to wait for the cab for abt 2 hours.. can u imagine?

This whole day was crazy.. The air-conditioning wasn't working well, we were all like steaming in the office.. Later on, we ran out of water from the cooler.. maybe cos everyone was so hot and drowning themselves with water!! and den, our printers went bonkers and kept jamming.. and den, pricing dept was so late for the final bell... wa, everything is going on strike sia!! i think i shud go on strike tooo... STRIKE!!! haha.. =)
