Switchfoot concert

February 28: Went for Switchfoot concert with Dorinda, Henry and Mel! Quite cool, my 1st (paid) concert ever. It was located at Coolhaus, some downtown club. With all the security checks, making u empty ur water bottle and such =P Hmm, it was basically a big dark empty area with a stage and ONE disco ball.

We had an opening act by Copeland. Yes yes, Copeland, not Coldplay. (inside joke =P) But when i was 'researching' which phone i shud get, i realise ppl actually hv Copeland on their iTunes list. so ppl do know them! Honestly, I didn't really enjoy that part, was wanting switchfoot to come out.. haha.. And we waited & waited. Doors opened at 7pm, Switchfoot came out at 9.15pm i think. our legs were aching (did i mention it was a standing concert?)

Anyways, 'coped' lotsa pro pics from their website. Crazy talented drummer and guitarists!! Love the guitar jumps.. haha.. Ohya, switchfoot is really good at involving the crowd.. And maybe cos ppl in western countries are more on.. the whole feel was very nice! everyone was very into it.

Wa, i love this pic.. Looks like he has many hands shaking the tambourine. But yet, in the midst of the movement u can see his face.. the pic kinda catches the essence of the action itself..

My cameraman.. They told us they were recording some sort of bootleg thingy to put on their website.. hahaa, coolness.. they hv like a video podcast thing.. =)

Crazy crowd.. They were doing something called crowd surfing i think (kor told me this) .. Apparently, this is banned in Spore.. Too dangerous.. can cause death if ppl step on them.. But they kept doing it that night. Mel said maybe it's their way of getting to the front.. haha..

Guitar kissing.. ahhaa, i love how they enjoy the concert as much as we do.. Can see that they are really into it.. We had many sing alongs as well..

Flying hair... haha.. Priceless pic.. At one point, (i dunno which guy) ran behind us and sang there.. And den ran back on stage looking as though nothing has happened. so fast and he wasnt even 'panting' ahaha..

All in all, it was fun.. Worth the travel downtown! Good thing it wasn't March 1st though.. Wouldn't have made it cos of the crazy snow storm.. Classes in school was cancelled and everything! Kinda scary.. I was contented just staring out my window.. haha..

Last note: Joel ~~went~~ sneaked into Lee Hom's concert. Aih, so jealous! Heard it was an awesome concert once again. Adding to his list of incredible talent in guitar, piano, violin, drums, he now plays a traditional Chinese instrument called "er hu". Plus i think there was a special guest, JJLin.. The one who sang "saranghaeyo"

Haa.. David Tao is coming to Toronto though.. Wanna go? Hmm, so ex though.. Dun think i wanna spend the money.. Maybe if Lee Hom comes.. =P Ok, closing up my crazy concert post. Gotta get some work done.. sigh, crazy busy week ahead!
