Tuesday, February 12, 2008 leaving home Well well.. home, i must say is.. comfortable! haha, it's like u dun hv to worry about ur next meal, where to go, what to do.. you just enjoy! (i guess that only happens when u're back for holiday, not permanently) but, honestly, after being back for a month, part of me really question my decision to go back to toronto to work. True enough, back home u get lower pay, longer working hours, probably more office politics.. but like, u get to stay at home, eat home cook food etc. If i ever get stuck or if there's an emergency, mum & dad is just few miles away.. In a way, u're not all alone fending for yourself.. u can say the grass is always greener on the other side. but for me, i guess it's more like home is always home la, it's hard to explain..Nonetheless, after much prayer and a wonderful sermon, i'm at peace with my decision. i realise it's not time to come home yet! it's amazing how sometimes God speaks to me through sermons.. Even last time when I was going through that whole ordeal with my job search, every sunday was like a reassurance! haha.. Anyways, thanks to Stephen who came all the way to pick me up & send me home, I could go to SIB for sunday service.. Ahhh, u know, it's always good to be back there. refreshing! Pastor started off preaching about how our identity is not about our culture, race or even religion. It's about being God's ppl, children of God.. and really, going where God leads us to go. Genesis 12 1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you. 2 "I will make you into a great nation 3 I will bless those who bless you, Hebrews 11 v 8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. 9 By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. 10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God. By faith, many a times means that we are believing something that hasn't happen yet. And I guess the key thing is "he did not know where he was going".. Neither do I =P haha, although I will not be living in tents, but it's kinda similar in a way whereby my lodging is always so temporary.. moving around so much like a nomad. Ultimately, it's just comforting to know that the builder and architect of my life is God =D an unshakable foundation.. last week in kl.. see u guys back in toronto monday! Post a Comment |
